Saw this posted a while back in a separate thread title. Searched but no luck.

It was to cut tops about a foot high and then paste the cutting with ______ chemical. ???? Name?????

Any other tips appreciated. One is blackberry vines in iron plants. The other is bs thick thorny vines that grow around mandeville Covington underneath holly trees.

As a thank you, a pic of my tractor being worked on by the mechanic.

My parents paint straight Roundup (glyphosate) concentrate (not the premixed kind) on the cut ends of privet bush and the like to kill it. Put it on while the cut is fresh so that it gets in the cambium before the cut starts to heal.

Dude ive pulled at LEAST 100 of them...have the splinter scars to prove it.

Its on a very large root system, the pop ups are just that. Need to get down to the system roots.

You’re thinking of Bonide Stump and Vine Killer with the active ingredient trichlopyr (8.8%). There are other brand names containing the same herbicide in the same concentration but all will have stump and vine killer in the name. It doesn’t matter what brand name you buy. It’s a good herbicide - will do the job for your need.

Cut the vine and immediately “paint” the freshly cut wound with the herbicide. Retail plant nurseries or good hardware stores carry the product, usually not the big box stores.
