Like others in here, I hired a guy from a crew that was doing a neighbor’s yard.

Sought out the lead guy. Ten years later, he still does my yard. I lucked out and he’s a heck of a guy. Maintains my flower beds, shrubs, trees and just about anything else that’s within his capabilities.

I keep cold beer for him in the patio fridge. Have gotten to know his wife and kids, they come over and help him on weekends, kids go swimming.

Yes I realize this is likely atypical and the more I think about it, I’m just here to brag on him and say how fortunate I’ve been.

Back to the point, $50 every time he’s here for cut, weedeat, blow and check the flowerbeds.

I would actually like to see if someone would be willing to take care of everything but the mowing, but I know someone like that will probably be hard to find and it probably wouldn't save me much.

It's going to be expensive to get someone to come and do everything and not mow. I would just let them mow also.

Mine was around $500 every 2 weeks so I bought a 60" zero turn instead.

20 acres, about 6 needed mowing and weed eating ?

Takes me about 4 hours to cut it all. I do not cut and weed eat on the same day. It's a process, what is tallest? Ok I'll do that.

Similar situation.
I have 4.5 acres and the costs to cut and weedesr is $1k a month.
So, I do it all myself. 4 hours to mow and another 4 to eeedest.
Of course, being retired I'm under no time pressures.

We have a guy we pay $40 a week to cut front and back and weed eat. He also trims up the Viburnums and Lilac bushes as well.

The rest we handle ourselves. I enjoy planting and tending the actual flowers myself.

No kidding.
I used to push mow an acre lot for 10$ and had to pull the lawnmower behind my bike for over a mile one way to do it.

Started at $30 per cut/weedeat/edge/blow 5 years ago (add on for the crew cutting across the street). Went up to $40 after said neighbor moved out and they came specifically for my yard. Up to $50 this year with inflation. 1/3 acre lot, but corner lot with sidewalk so a hell of a lot more edging than a typical lot.

Find a neighbor that has a yard serviced, then approach the service company and ask - they're already out there every week anyway, so I got a good deal on keeping just my backyard mowed/trimmed.

I did this. The guy does mine, and both my next door neighbors on the same visit, saves him travel time and gas, and we get discounted. It's $40 every two weeks, they do trimming and edging and blowing in addition to the mowing.
