Depends on:
Proximity to viable roots
Temperatures
Form of nitrogen
Rainfall
Growth rate of plant.

Lawn I assume - with adequate rain/irrigation and warm weather should show results in a week or 2. Been a tad cool lately for late April. Some % of the N in lawn fertilizer is rapid release, usually ammonium sulfate and quickly available to the lawn grass if watered in; the remainder slower, time released N, often sulfur coated urea or polymer coated urea.

I used a good slow release last year. Best my yard ever looked but damn it was a beast when it started to rain.

perfect timing, 1-1/4" rain in downtown chackbay yesterday. should see greening results next week...

Depends on rate and grass. For Bermuda you need 1lb nitrogen per 1k sq feet. For that 24% you need like 4.5lbs per 1k. If you put it half rate it may take a bit to show anything and it will green up some but not like it would at the listed rate
