Looking into getting a pellet grill. I think I'm going with recteq but trying to decide between the 590 vs backyard beast vs flagship.

Seems like most people on past threads here have the 590. Anyone wish they had gone bigger on the grill?

I feel like the 590 would be sufficient probably 90% of the time for me. But would certainly consider going bigger if needed.

I have the 590, and I’ve always had enough room but I do kinda wish I would’ve gone bigger

From info on-line, my Genesis III is 641 sq. inches of cooking surface. That is suitable 90+% of the time since I'm usually cooking for no more than 4 people at the house.

However, there are times when I have people over and I wish I had a bigger grill since I wind up spending a good bit more time at the grill preparing food in shifts.

Thankfully, that only happens a few times a year.

As big as you can afford.

I have the bigger recteq, it doesn't get as hot as smaller pellet grills. That's my only gripe with it.

I have the 590. Works fine for me (2 adults and infant in the house), but wish I had gone with the next size up for the handful of times I've needed to smoke meat for a larger family gathering. Plus having the second rack would be sweet for drying jerky in fewer batches.

Just as with a TV, go a little bigger than you want.

I have the Pit Boss Comp 850 and it suits my needs most of the time. I wish I'd have went the step further for when I'm doing something different or am cooking more (or bigger) than I normally do.

I thought that the size I got would be perfect, but I didn't realize that I would catch that bug and use it like I do.

I 2nd the biggest you can afford.

My wife just bought me the 30” inch Blackstone. Probably would have been fine but I exchanged it for the 36”. Glad I did, the extra room has kept me from burning stuff.

For charcoal, I would say the bigger and less of a square or circle, the better but that’s because I like to have a range of available temperatures to either cook different things or have all my meat come off the grill at the same time. Can you do that with a pellet grill? If not, you probably don’t need as much space.
I only burn charcoal and logs so really not sure.
