So far, very pleased with the experience with alpine.

A few updates:
Duct board is really cool stuff. Figure out how many sheets you think you'll need, and get a whole extra one
Buy more tape

Forgot to update this -
Pretty amazing unit. The condensate drains were kind of a pain and I screwed up the first time and flooded my nice new duct board plenum
So far, looks like thats all I got wrong. It basically stays in de-humidify mode and easily keeps the house at whatever temp we want. Its great.
Saved a little over $10k. If it lasts longer than 3 years that'll be a win.

More home AC/Heater units should be DIY friendly. The biggest pain is getting it in the attic.
