Whenever I fill the tank or add gas to the tank my Gravely (Chinese) engine on my zero turn floods and won’t start when I turn it back on. Almost have to drain the battery trying before it will finally start. I am not overfilling and Iam using non ethanol fresh fuel. Been happening since about 90 hrs.

Any ideas?

Maybe the float in the carb is sticking open? Is there gas dripping out of the exhaust?

Are you sure it is flooding? Sounds more likely that it is running out of gas.

That was my first thought.

Just had this problem with mine. Check handles. Mine weren’t seated right causing my engine to turn but no fire at plugs. Played with handles works like new now. Something to do with that safety switch

This only happens when I put gas in and try to start it. If I fill it and it sits until cold it doesn’t do it. Problem is I can’t cut all I need to cut on one tank of gas.

Seems like a vapor lock but not sure how that would arise.

Does it start with starter fluid?

Is there gas in the carb bowl?

Have you checked the fuel pump?

Try running it with the gas cap off after filling the tank. Most lawnmowers have a vented gas cap and your vent could clogged
