Looking for advice on building a gravel driveway approximately 12 feet wide by 70 feet long. I assume you have to have some type of base layer before putting the limestone. Any ideas on what this will cost (ballpark) and any recommendations for a company in the Nola area?

I built the area where my driveway was going to be 6-8" high. Let it set for couple months then added some #2 gravel. That was about 4 months ago and they have locked in together super tight to form a solid base. When I'm done building I will add some of the mix(610,gravel/crush) to dress it up . I've seen it called 610, gravel crush, etc. Seems every place calls it something different.

Thinking about doing this on a side of my house that doesn’t get much use and doing some planter boxes in for a vegetable garden. Anyone have any pictures of what there’s look like?

No base layer is necessary. Grade the existing dirt. Roll out some geofabric. Lay the rock down. Go rent a Dingo or mini skid steer for a day and knock it out. It’s only 1 load of rock. The skid would compact it but I’d recommend hitting it with a plate compactor also. Dingo will run you $250/day and can pull with a pick up. Operates like a zero turn.

Best way. My driveway is 250+' and I am fixing to extend it another 1300'.
