Have these suckers pop up in a section of my lawn. Been busting my arse spot treating, digging out Dallisgrass, top dressing the same area and doing my best to have bermuda push this stuff out but these things are thick and not responsive to spot spraying.

Getting to the point where I'm just going to nuke my lawn and lay sod next year. Trying to salvage this thing has been a challenge. Have learned a lot but damn, the weeds just keep coming.

I had a “significant” goosegrass problem in a few areas of the lawn several years ago, but no longer since I started using pre-emergent herbicides. I doubt if I see more than couple plants a year now.

Multiple applications of prodiamine pre emerge will help a lot

yea. Missed my window as I closed on the house in May and didn't really get busy with the lawn until June.

Hopefully next year things will go better, learning Pre Emerg would have been a game changer for the lawn.

Sucks because I'm getting some great patches of bermuda in a lot of other areas thank to advice from folks on here.

Anyone have any post emerge solutions? I've been spot spraying with 2,4 quinclorac and not getting much traction.

Try one of these post-emergent herbicides suggested for goose grass for whatever lawn grass you have - Bermudagrass I assume. LINK

Thanks Craw. Appreciate it, wasn't finding a lot on google besides the box store stuff I was already using but this is a great reference.

Thanks, realize MSMA is probably the best option but I'm trying to salvage an absolute garbage lawn.

Don't want to overly damage and really trying to get things healthy at this point without putting too much stress.

Bought a nice drill bit blade sharpener yesterday, made a real nice cut this week.

Since you have bermuda use Specticle. That stuff is fantastic. I would not do back to back applications of that though. I have seen it delay green up by as much as a month.

Finally figured out what the name of that blue-green weed I have growing in my backyard is. TIL

I think I still have some hi-yield grass killer with sethoxydim for it.

That's it, aka silver crab grass I think its called.

It's a real bitch for me right now and pops up in July, just when I thought things were starting to turn.

Also goose grass is an indicator of compaction. MSMA and metribuzin is a good way to get rid of it in bermuda also.

Yea, my soil is pretty rough but I just aerated a couple weeks ago, was probably too late.
