Good or bad time to fertilize with the rain coming?

Undecided I should hit my lawn right now. Looks like rain for the next days. Is that too much rain?

Personally I think a little rain or hard rain one day is perfect time, but days of rain could potentially dilute the fert.

The issue is run off. A single, hard and heavy rain can take much of the fertilizer away. As long as it doen't rain hard enough to run off, the fertilizer will soak into the soil with the rain. Generally, before a rain is a good time to fertilize unless the soil is already saturated.

I fertilized on Sunday, and actually watered it in myself at a reasonable rate, so the following 2 straight days of rain wouldn't dillute or run it off. We ended up getting 9 inches according to my porch bucket.
Time will tell if I was successful in getting it soaked down into the dirt before the deluge.
ETA- Scott's site says I should see results in 1-5 days, today is day 5 and I don't see results. Sad face. I'll give another week and possibly have to do it again.

go for it, the rain will help it work
that said use best judgement because you dont want lots and lots of rain or it will carry the nutrients off your property and fertilize the ditches and neighbors yards.
and its pretty obvious you wouldnt want to do it before any big storms where it will flood your yard
