My kitchen cabinets are painted white, and, needless to say, pick up a lot of smudges, splatters, and other similar stains. I’ve tried a few all-purpose cleaners without much success.

You found something that cleans this surface well without breaking the bank or your back from scrubbing?

When I clean the cabinets I just use dish soap and warm water.

If it's really bad, you could try Krud Kutter.

If it's really, really, bad you could get some TSP and try a pretty diluted concentration first. Be careful though. You'll look like you got sunburn if you get overspray on your skin. It'll strip paint, so be careful with it, but it works.

L.A.'s Totally Awesome. It's replaced Simple Green as my favorite all-purpose cleaner now. Can buy it at Home Depot for $7/gallon usually, dilute 1:10 in a spray bottle and use it for everything around the house except glass or anything I use a disinfectant cleaner for. Even great for pre-treating laundry stains at full strength, got a fresh motor oil spot out of a pair of khakis like it never happened.
