I'm going to be hooking up my portable generator to my home propane tank. I'll have it tee off where it goes into the house. So I need to know what supply pressure the generator needs. These generators come with a line usually with a regulator that screws onto the portable tanks.
I purchased this generator
WGEN9500DF
I emailed them, to see what pressure the generator needs for propane. The response was 7-14 inches of water column. Well that is about 1/2psi. This can't be right, is it?
Maybe they are saying this is the pressure the regulator on the generator at the carb needs.

I checked on this generator to see what it needs:
Duromax XP12000EH
Duromax says it needs between 3-10 psi.
Have any of you to do this or know more than I do about this?

Yea, it probably is right. The engine doesn't really need a forced supply, it just needs adequate line size.

Odds are it says you need a half pound of pressure running at full load.

I was surprised at the low pressure, especially when Duromax was saying it needs 3psi. I know the Duromax isn't as efficient but that is a big difference.

1 psi = 27.7 inches of water, so 1/2 psi for your case is dead on.

It doesn't really matter much. Just like a gasoline engine, it just needs a supply of fuel.

I have the same generator. I bought a spare for the regulator that is mounted on the generator from. I would hate to need it and that regulator fail and then you are stuck.

Aren't whole house propane lines only at like 5-7psi?

1/2 doesnt sound off
