Yesterday afternoon around 5 it came through with pretty strong wind gusts and some serious rainfall. I'd guess close to 2 inches in 1 1/2 hours time.

Enough so that it caused some street flooding and power outages in my area of N.O.

The ground was so dry that it soaked it up pretty quick when it finally stopped and the big cracks in my backyard vegetable garden closed up once the ground did its thing.

It would probably take another 1 or 2 rainfalls like that for my garden to hold water once it stops raining, but I'm glad for what we got.

Got a good bit in South Lafayette last night. I sat on the back porch and drank beer in the dark just enjoying the rainfall.

Only got 0.10 inches yesterday.....but luckily received 0.35 the day before. So a whopping half anch in Back Vacherie. I'll take it.

Got more rain yesterday afternoon that probably dumped another 1 in. in my neighborhood.

I went out to pick okra this morning and the ground is wet, soft and showing no cracks like it did just 3 days ago. Made picking those 86 pods easy on the feet since I do that barefooted when the garden get good rain.

Easier to wash off the feet with the hose than washing off shoe soles with mud getting into the sole patterns.
