Find some Swan series columbine if you can. They are more of late winter/spring bloomer but they are spectacular

Pansy, Viola, and Snapdragons is generally my go to. Around here I can plant those in November and they bloom until May.

My wife impulse bought some fall colored mums a few weeks ago when highs were above 100 degrees for a few straight days. They continue to see under the patio until the climate allows them to be put out.

I usually make cool season annual bedding plant selections from the LSU AgCenter’s Super Plant recommendations. LINK. Scroll down to you see cool season bedding plant recommendations. New plants are added to the program yearly.
