I think I am about to buy my 4th one in 4 years. We do not overstretch them and they are kept under a roof yet they always develop a leak. Anyone here have a recommendation?

I had one for about 2 or 3 years before I had to replace it. Just bought two 50' ones recently and I'm about to buy a third. I love them and if I have to replace them every few years, so be it. They're very convenient in my opinion.

I replaced my expanding hoses w/ the metal hose that has similar pro's (cheap, no kink, lightweight etc).
It's lasted a year so far which is more than I can say of my experience w the expanding type. Give it a shot.

mine usually only last until they get run over with the mower. the grey striped ones at home depot at least stay flexible

Just bought a 100' hydrotech from WM. Never owned one before. It has a 10 year warranty that you register it for. Plan to take them up on that. Will see how it goes.

How much do you spend for one over 4 years?
Get a ZERO from Lowes. Pricey up front but will last.
ZERO isn't really an expanding hose but soft, nevertheless.
I'm up to 4 of them now at 4 different spigots.

Self retracting hose reel with 100 foot of hose. I got mine 2 Christmases ago and love it. I know...not the expanding hose you asked about...but you asked about something better.
