Electrical baws! Need some advice for extending outdoor wiring (PICS)

Long story short; i'm replacing all my floodlights and this particular one has been a challenge.
a. fricking wasp nest right next to it inside and so i sprayed and stuffed a tissue in there but most of the wasp baws have been out and about so they're coming home now and pissed off i'm in the way.
b. this is wired in with other lights so those light-duty wire nuts weren't going to work anyway; i need something larger.
c. the new floodlight is too big; with the dusk/dawn sensor attached it wont fit in that small space behind the gutter up against the soffit like that.
this was supposed to be a 30 minute swap
ok, so i'm going to move the box to the wood down and closer to the corner (see below) and mount it vertically but those wires are stretched as tight as they can be and no way they're going to make it to the new location.
so now in addition to a new outdoor box, i need the wires to SAFELY reach the new location; HOW DO I PROPERLY JOIN A WIRE THAT MEETS CODES so i don't burn my house down in this situation?
Pics for refrence.

a wire nut splice is fine just stuff the nuts up under your soffit

Per code it needs to be in an accessible junction box with wires that carry more current than the feeding breaker.
I'd use wagu style connectors over wire nuts.

Wrap the wires together and seal with electrical tape?
I like these better than wire nuts. Not sure what coding says, but I have them for my retrofit recessed lighting because it's smaller and easier to manage than a wire nut.
Take out the tissue when you're done too.

Have two good choices: attach an outdoor rated junction box to the soffit and run the necessary NM cable to where you need it or use a NM splice connector that does NOT require an accessible junction box and then run the wiring. Personally I would just run a box unless seeing it really bothers you.

i just ordered a jar of the wagos. i like that idea better because i'm no electrician and despite my best efforts; i still have wire nuts that fall off on me.
can you wrap the wago connection in electrical tape before shoving it into that opening? i just want to make sure this isn't going to cause any issues being outdoors in a damp climate.

I wrap wire nuts and Wago's with a little electrical tape regardless of location. Just insurance from things coming loose later. Can also use a tiny bit of silicone grease too, just a smear on the wire ends does wonders to prevent copper from oxidizing.

i could probably just leave the one already there and put a cover over it. i've already almost pulled it off but i can screw it back in and just wago the wires inside it, run the new wires to the new box....PROFIT.
this is way up; you don't even notice it now, throwing a black cover over it would be fine i think and i feel better knowing the wire connection is inside an electrical box.
what a dummy

If you have to get another junction box, just paint it the same as the soffit, It's not the worst thing. If this is a backyard light fixture, I wouldn't be worried about how that looks.

it definitely is. but i have one on the side of the house that is next and from the looks of it; its going to be the same problem.
that damn box looks like its not even connected to the house.

here's whats going in:

eta i don't think i'm going to put a junction box here. i think it would look too bad. i'll take my chances with the wago connectors electrical taped to death and shoved up inside the soffit opening.
