I'm considering an electric pressure washer for light duty around the house. I have a small house without very much driveway. It would also be used for cleaning off the boat and four wheeler.

Sun Joe on Amazon

The Sun Joe on Amazon is rated pretty high. I have one of their blowers and am happy with it. $149 for 2030 max PSI.

Portland from Harbor Freight

Harbor Freight's Portland electric washer has good ratings and is $99 for 1750 PSI. Could probably wait for a coupon and have some money off of that.

I've had good luck with harbor freight tools when they are for light duty such as what I will be doing with the pressure washer. I might use it a few times a year. Is the extra PSI from the Sun Joe worth the $50?

I’ve never been impressed with the electric ones myself. They may have improved since I’ve used them. I would say 2000psi would be adequate though for your needs.

Pro tip, you can pull up a 20% off coupon for HF on your phone in seconds and they’ll take it every time. I’ve seen the cashier give me 20% off all my items after doing so lol. Coupon is always for one item only. It’s also always in their fliers, can ask for one.

I would go with the 2000psi. I have a sun joe and it works great for the light tasks (cleaning 4 wheeler, siding, washing car etc). Don't expect it to clean driveway however. It can but takes forever.

Not to derail. But can you use this along with another coupon? I see an air compressor coupon for a mark down of 186 to 145 or so. Would be nice to add on another 20%.

Usually those 20% off coupons have restrictions. It usually says something about what brands or products it can't be used on.

The coupons usually have fine print that excludes any item that you'd actually want to buy. ETA: they typically exclude entire brand lines like the US General cabinets, most of the welders, and a lot of the power tools or trailer items.

I can borrow my dad's for that purpose. I don't have very much storage space right now so I don't want a gas washer taking up space.

I’ve bought items on sale and used the coupons plenty of times. Never been told I couldn’t.

I have the ryobi one and don’t know any difference between it and my neighbors gas powered one that I use to borrow.

Any ideas on adding a surface cleaner attachment to an old Husky 1750 PSI Electric? My electric one still works great, but would like to speed up the driveway and sidewalk cleaning. When I got it, I was in a townhouse and didn't have much need for a surface cleaner. Trying not to buy a whole new unit, but might if I need to.

No idea buddy, I got one for mine, I think it’s just a standard connector that fits any nozzle

I think mine is not a standard one. It has two connectors into the handle. One is the wider spray pattern, and the other does circular rotation. But they're both built into the attachment, so I can't just change nozzles. It is the whole wand.

I’ll never buy a gas powered pressure washer again. I have a greenworks. Doing the driveway is a chore, but mine is only 30’. They’re quiet and you don’t have to stop every hour to refill gas.
Definitely get all the air out of the line before you turn it on. And remember to turn it off before you unplug it, it’s way to easy to forget this step since it shuts off the motor when you stop spraying.

I'd build one myself before investing in any of those.

No clue, I’m in no way an expert about these things, just for the ryobi one from Home Depot bc it was cheap and had good reviews

I have an ar blue 2000 that I use for everything except for cleaning concrete. I have a gas one with a surface cleaner that I use for concrete, the electric just doesn’t do it on the driveway for me.

I got that one from HF a couple of years ago. It crapped out last fall after only using it 2-3 times to do my small back deck and front walk. I would suggest something else to save you the trouble.

Electric pressure washers SHOULD be great due to the torque of the electric motors but for some reason they just are not as good as they should be vs gasoline. Electric motors kill gas motors but for some reason not yet.

And they WOULD be better if not for typical household circuit limitations. Most circuits are on no more than a 20 amp breaker, which means the max you'll get from an outlet is about 20 amps times 120 volts equals 2400 watts, or about 3HP. It's best not to push it as circuits are typically shared, so most electric pressure washers draw in the ~12-15 amp range so 1400-1800 watts or 1.9 - 2.4HP. Gas pressure washers don't have this limitation, and they typically have a 5HP or 6.5HP engine. It's hard to overcome that type of advantage in raw power.

There are great electric pressure washers out there that will last a lifetime, just not at the price point the OP is looking at.

A decent pump starts around $150, if you are paying less than that for a complete setup you are getting exactly what you pay for, junk.
