Dwarf Gardenia dropping buds before bloom

Not sure what the issue is. It’s potted with plenty of space, good light, watered daily, and otherwise well cared for. Had a little aphid issue which I sprayed and it seemed to take care of it.
So far I have a ton of buds but not a single one has popped open. Every day I see 5-7 green buds just on the ground.
Any ideas? Anyone seen anything like this?

Gardenia's don't like to dry out. That can cause it.

This, had an issue with my buds not opening up on the regular water schedule every few days. Had to water them a little every day to give them the energy to open up. You may need to water a little heavier each day depending on how fast your potting soil drains.
