My neighbor just had his shop done and they will start on his house next week. It looks good. Its not painted yet, but I like the way it looks.

Anyone on the board has hardy board on their house? If so, do you like it? Would you recommend it?

It's very hard and lasts a long time.

No, but I have some areas that are Hardie Plank lap siding. Looks great. Had to get rid of that nasty funk known as Masonite siding.

Yes, just make certain the correct size nails are used.

Yes.

It's basically a cement board that will not rot.

Wish they would have left it. His shitty threads don’t need to find their way to the HG board

I just renovated and used it. Looks good. It’s only a year old but no problems yet.

I have a mix of hardie lap siding and board and batten. It looks awesome. I did lose some of it during hurricane Laura but we had people lose whole brick walls. The wood textured looks best IMO. There’s another brand called Niche as opposed to Hardie but they’re basically the same thing. Really good stuff and not hard to install yourself.

My whole house is in it. Lap siding, soffits, fascia, trim, everything. I wanted a maintenance free home as I could get. I have porch all the way around the house so I don’t expect to have to do any fixing or painting for a long time! Also used corrugated metal for porch ceiling and carport ceiling as well.
