Cupola (roof ventilation) questions.

Can a functional cupola be installed with remote control louvre or flue to adjust during the day?
Does it work if it is releasing heat from the attic or do you need it to vent from living space? Both?
Besides fresh air, does it really help with the temp of a house in the summer, in the south?

I don’t know many people who put an operable cupola but I live in south Louisiana. Seems like they would be the first thing to go in a storm leaving a big hole in your roof.
I’d imagine if there is a remote flue it could be installed or a power vent underneath.

It 100% does if the house/building is well insulated. I don't know a lot about the installation of them, but I've been in similar buildings....one with and one without a cupola, and there was a marked difference.

Even if it’s 98° on the ground level and only 96° at the roof level? There’s going to be that much difference?

Is the cost of installing one worth the savings?

Do you already have off ridge or ridge venting? I've only installed 1 ever, and it was purely decorative. If you already have adequate ventilation, the gains would be minimal.
