Crawlspace encapsulation

Just got an inspection with some evidence of water intrusion, some evidence of pests, small amount of mold on some joists. Worth it to get a company out to take care of this as a new homebuyer?

You can do this yourself if you don’t mind a little labor.
Find out where the water is coming in and build up earth to stem the tide.
Make sure you have good airflow underneath.
Heavy visqueen, about 6 mils, on top of the dirt
Pest control would require hardware cloth or such over every opening. If they aren’t terrible I wouldn’t fret about it.

Full encapsulation is more than just laying the tarps on the ground. Ours is done (not well), the tarp is sealed at the base of the footers, and everything above that is spray-sealed. arse hats that did ours laid 1 seam the wrong way (uphill over the downhill one) that I have had to mess with a few times. I guess it depends on size and layout if you think you can do it, but mine with rock, not a simple rectangle, multiple footers in the middle, big slope - no way I would try. Probably took them a day, would take me 10.

There is mold everywhere outside, take mold out of the equation for mitigation

I have always wanted to do this to my crawspace, since it becomes a mess in the humid summers where the condensation from the AC lines drip everywhere.
However the main thing is you after you seal everything up you would need to dehumidify the space. Guessing most just use big dehumidifiers with built in drains and pumps.
Has anyone ever decided to actually use your HVAC to do the same? I know it would cause an issue so would need airflow between the crawlspace and the main house. So that is probably the main barrier?
