Cracked Kitchen Sink with Boiling Water

Made some pasta last night and went to strain the noodles like any person would and the sink cracked. Anyone ever seen this? It cracked bad enough that we can't turn the water on or it leaks through the bottom. Ordered another one this morning. Wife's gonna have to do dishes in a 5 gallon bucket like a poor for a few days.

Never seent it but I always run cold water before and while I'm draining pasta. I'd contact the manufacturer you might be able to get a rebate since you mentioned you already bought a replacement.

What's the sink made of? Stainless?

It wasn't stainless. No way stainless would have cracked with hot water.
It was some sort of clay or porcelain. Not entirely sure what it was to be honest. It wasn't smooth like a bathroom sink. It had a bit of a gritty texture to it.
The replacement I ordered is black stainless. Not dealing with this mess again.

Flex Seal until you get the new one.

OT humor/logic followed me here I suppose. I don’t have any flex seal but I got a 10 year old roll of duct tape. That’ll probably work in a pinch. Gonna redneck this sink up till the new one arrives.

We had a small disaster in our kitchen that caused 8wks of construction, and we did dishes with the garden hose. When the project was done, I sorta missed using the hose.
