Control Board on AC unit

I have had to replace the same control board on my inside AC twice in the past 6 weeks at $250 a poop. It’s out again. AC guy coming in the morning. Any AC guys out there might could tell what maybe going on with it? It’s a 17 year old unit. Any advice would be appreciated.

My son had to replace his after 6 months. There was water in the air handler dripping on it. Relocated the board and ok.
Did you replace it yourself? If not why was there no warranty?

That what I’d like to know.
OP, Sounds like you have a “parts changer” vs a true diagnostician. I would think the odds of three bad boards in a short period is practically nil. Control board in air handler or outdoor condensing unit? Voltage surges?

had a friend with a similar situation, every other year her board went out and needed replacing.
she got the number off the circuit board, ebay searched it, and bought it at wholesale $40 price instead of letting her, then the a/c guy, that wanted to charge her $250 for the same board, plus $100 labor to replace it each time.
she went through about 6 boards in 10 years until finally they must have upgraded the switch contacts because its been trouble free the last 10 years now.
there should be a number on the circuit board near one of the corners, do ebay search and buy it at wholesale cost and replace it yourself by simply moving one wire at a time to the exact same spot on the new board and take pictures first just to make sure you dont mix anything up. its not rocket science so turn the power off and its a simple thing you can do yourself

Turned out to be the thermostat. Control board still good. Thanks, for all the responses.
