I want to pour a truck load of concrete around my house and shop for some walk ways, apron in front of my shop and a retaining wall. Was planning on bringing the truck from a road behind my property to pour but it recently sold and don’t want to tear up new guys road.

What is best method to get it 150 yards from the road? I have seen the new mud mixer machine, is it better to buy one and use lots of bags?

Just did this last month. Rented a Georgia buggy for $200 for the day. Cement truck parked on the road about 50 yards from my house.

If a concrete pump isn’t an option, a Georgia Buggy is the way to go.

How much concrete did you pour? I only ask because those things hole like 1/8th of a yard and if you're getting a full 10 yard truck it'll take 80 trips with one of those. The crews I've seen, usually have 2 - 4 Georgia Buggys. The concrete will become hot by the last load if you only have one and you're doing any kind of volume.

Doesn't sound like the OP has a 10 yard project, but I may be wrong there.

I've botched 2 concrete jobs I've done myself. It's one of those jobs I refuse to take on again because fixing bad concrete is more work than pouring it the first time. And the first time was a bitch.

Being 150 yards off the road, can the truck get any closer by driving through the yard? Regardless of having to fix grass or maybe a sprinkler head or two, I'd want that concrete truck as close as possible to the pour site.

I think you have something off there? 150cy is 15 full truck loads. If it is 10cy and you can't go straight from the the chute, i would get multiple georgia bugees(which is still going to take a long time) or bite the bullet and get a pump truck or trailer pump company.

he's moving it 150 yards, not moving 150CY of concrete... that threw me off too.

the correct answer is a Georgia buggy.

Just did this pouring a 37x25 slab: finisher had a giant bucket on his bobcat and transported the concrete to where the slab was going on.
