If you have st aug/centipede use the chart. Bermuda is a different breed.

One more ID. I have a patch of this as well…single seed stem. I can’t see anything other than that coming out of the st aug.

Dallisgrass is on the Celsius label. I’ve killed dallisgrass with it at the highest concentration

I’d love that. I gave some healthy specimens a good squirt in case

Maybe there are different types of dallisgrass

The label says it may take 2 spot treatments to kill

I saw that. Only thing I have ever seen for that stuff in st aug is roundup or dig out. I’m close to digging some out so I’ll see how this test goes.

Appears to bermudagrass seedheads.

According to label, Celsius only suppresses Dallisgrass. LINK

That's one thing I looked up but don't they have multiple seed heads per stem? These are just a single shoot.

Maybe thats what I saw.

Here is another shot. Not the multi head at the top of the pic.

Read the label again. It doesn’t say kill. You probably had a different type of weed grass. Is says control (I use the word control to mean kill, herbicide labels don’t mean kill)

You have grey leaf spot fungus.

Find the grass the seed head is coming from and pull it.

I was talking about the label on the bottle

LINK

All of the weeds say they are “controlled”, so I’m pretty sure that means killed. There is a special note that dallisgrass may need a second application.

Hate to argue with you because I really respect all of your knowledge but the label seems pretty straight forward and I did have success myself. I did use surfactant and sprayed a shite load on the weeds because they were really large and overgrown. Maybe they just got a really high dose because 2 weeks later they had all turned purple and died.

Celsius does not kill dallisgrass.

Yea I been seeing that fungus popping up. So much rain There is fungus all around lol. I have some immunox in a hose end sprayer but haven’t had a chance to spray it yet. I see some other kind of stuff in the front that looks like powdery mildew on small spots.

I’ll try to pull one of those seed heads and post it up. I got it with Celsius so I hope it’s dying like some of the other weeds I see giving it up.

Au contraire. You hit it with a strong enough dose, it’ll kill it. Ask me how I know.

To be fair, it’ll also kill your desirable grass and reduce the area to bare dirt.

Yea I think I just gave it an extremely high dose. Celsius was mixed to label specifications at the high dose. The Dallisgrass weeds are 2 feet high in an empty lot and I coated most of the plant in Celsius with surfactant. I think it just absorbed a shite ton of Celsius because 2 weeks later they were all dead.

I don’t doubt that you may have more trouble killing a short trimmed dallisgrass with little surface area. But the plant is susceptible to Celsius, that’s just my personal opinion based on experience. Ronk and crawdude know their shite, I didn’t mean to step on any toes and I’ll leave it alone.

I had a small section of my yard (maybe a couple hundred square feet at most) that was about 80% dallisgrass, 10% Virginia buttonweed, and maybe 10% St Aug but with a couple other weeds sparsely mixed in. I mixed Celsius at the high rate with spreader sticker and soaked it. Killed everything.

Bermudagrass does have multiple seed heads on the terminal end. Send both those photos to Dr. Ron Strahan, weed extension specialist with the LSU AgCenter rstrahan@agcenter.lsu.edu - good chance he can ID it from the seed head photo.
