I live in a new subdivision that the yards are taken care of by the HOA. I do plant things and trim because I like to but they take care of the grass and the major stuff

I have this queen palm in my front yard. The top of the trunk is about 7-8 feet tall plus the palms. It was planted before we moved in. I would guess September of 2023.

There are about 400 homes already in our neighborhood and from what I can tell, every single one of these trees still have these braces on them. Some are atleast 2 1/2 years old since they were planted. If you zoom in, you can see that it looks like to me that the braces are restraining growth and twisting the bark.

Wouldnt you think these trees are rooted good enough to remove the braces by now?

I don't know about when palm bracing can be removed but that is definitely starting to eat into the tree. I'd call a Palm tree seller and ask them if they can give you some advice.

Take that stuff off.

After 2 years, it's rooted in.

Obviously, whoever planted them isn't coming back to remove the supports.

Maybe you'll start a trend.

So the HOA cuts your grass as well…
Never heard of that.

What’s the fee monthly? Curious…

I paid $350 a month for HOA. That includes lawn care with fertilizing and cutting the bushes. They also put mulch out twice a year. That also covers all the irrigation for the lawn. I don't have to pay for water or repair to the irrigation system. It also covers three swimming pools, tennis courts, pickle ball, gym and garbage pick up, gated community, etc.

Honestly, it is a very good deal. I'm sure it will go up in the future, but just the lawn care and the irrigation is almost worth that. They water our lawns and flowerbeds pretty much every day.

I'm not a subdivision kinda guy. I like my woods and stuff but you got one hell of a sweet deal there.

That's a nice contract for a landscaping company to have!

I agree. There will be 1100 house eventually. Plus all the common grounds.

I have never been a subdivision guy. I grew up on a farm and have always been "out". It's my first attempt at this and I have to be honest. I dont hate it. I do go a little stir crazy every once in a while wanting to work on the grass but I get over that. I am doing some planting and taking care of the flowers because I enjoy it. I have also potted a bunch of stuff around my pool that keep me busy. Its a compromise and my business and boat keep me busy anyway

I get that its not for everyone but there are plenty of parts of it that I do like
