Best selective herbicide for crabgrass that can be used in the heat of summer. I have an area that I've been hand pulling with no real success. I'm afraid to just spot spray with the temps getting so high during the day. Talk to me.

Probably just going to have to deal w/ it and start your split application of prodiamine (fall / spring) preemergent. I had crabgrass, and after a year of prodiamine it was almost gone, and after two years it's completely gone.

In the spot with the heaviest infestation, its St. Aug.....but I have one other trouble area that is centipede.

You can use Blindside but it will yellow your St Aug and centipede. I suggest picking a cloudy day and spray it before 7am. Spraying Blindside when temps are over 85 is going to increase the yellowing.

Tenacity if you need to spray the centipede and St. Augustine.

Vantage if you just need to spray the centipede

Tenacity isn't labeled for residential use on St Aug. It will turn your St Aug white. Though it is good.

You're right, I've had good luck with a 4oz/Acre rate though. Technically, I believe it is approved for St. Augustine use in sod farm, but not residential.

I should have included that in my post.

ETA: plus the bleaching effect is a cool phenomenon

It is approved for sod farms. There is nothing wrong with using it residentially except for white grass

Just look for something with quinclorac as the active ingredient. Here is quinclorac on Amazon and it would last forever.

He has St. Augustine and Centipede so quinclorac is a no go

It would last forever because it would never be used. Grass type is very important when using herbicides.
