Pros will tell you 1 inch or shorter, but that's in professional turf management situations like sports fields and golf courses where you can mow every day and water every day and train it tight to the ground. In typical residential situations where you only mow once a week and only water when it starts to look shitty, the bermuda likes to be a little bit longer, 3 inches.

I'm ready for the downvotes.

Purists will say less than an inch and to reel mow, but I cut mine at 1.5" and it'll look as good as the St. Aug lawns in my neighborhood.

While I understand that people don’t want to cut as often as bermuda needs to be cut it does not like to be cut at 3 inches. The homeowner likes to cut it at 3 inches. Bermuda, with 100% unwavering scientific truth, should be cut from 1/2 -2 inches depending on variety.

I’m the purist!!

Also if you mow less than two inches your lawn better be perfectly level or it looks like a hatchet job.

3 x year, put a "hot dose" of MSMA out on your Bermuda. It will burn, but two weeks later put out 13-13-13 (before a rain). Boom beautiful yard!
