How significant is the takeover? I would recommend encouraging it too...
There are several ways to do this if interested.
- Mow low (1-2 inches or whatever is feasible).
- Mow often (2-3 times/week).
- Apply heavy rates of Nitrogen (1 to 1.5 lbs/month). Use 21-0-0 which is fast release Ammonium Sulfate.
Many here can attest to this method. Me included.
