Beam or dial torque wrench?

I just got a 4.5 star review 150lb beam for $24 off Amazon.
The knob style is $90 at lowes here and at least $45 on Amazon.
What am I giving up by using a beam? The increments on the scale are also much precise on the beam models.

A quality beam torque wrench will be very accurate but does take a bit more attention on your part. Never have to worry about zeroing them out after use either.
All that said, invest in a Precision Instruments split beam clicker. I've had Craftman, Kobalt, Harbor Freight, Husky, etc...and the ones that still work are collecting dust in a tool cabinet somewhere in my shop. I have 2 Precision Instruments wrenches, 3/8" & 1/2", covering from about 10 lb-ft to 250 lb-ft. Going to add a 1/4"in-lb model soon, mainly because the only in-lb tool I have is an NIST-traceable calibrated torque driver meant for industrial electrical work. The PI wrenches don't need to be zeroed out after use, incredibly easy to set torque on, and very positive snap when hits the desired torque. $146 for the PREC3FR250F on Amazon, covers 45 - 250 lb-ft range which is pretty much anything most DIYers run into.

I feel like I need you to come over to my house and evaluate my entire toolset.

I have a couple of the cheap ones from Harbor Freight. They're accurate enough for a shady tree mechanic to get the job done. If you're rebuilding a top fuel drag racing engine spend the money on a good one

I had one of those and stripped a screw on a motor first time I used it. Bought a beam type and have never had any problems.
