I have one battery powered shade on a 4x4 window above a bathtub in our main bath. It’s a Serena shade from Lutron and was fairly expensive imo.

Does anyone have a recommendation for something that could be used with a smart hub that could be set to raise and lower automatically depending upon the time of day that might be cheaper? I’d have at least 6 windows to do.

I have a few Serena shades and are buying a couple more at a time to do most of the windows int the house. They have been FLAWLESS for 3 years and I think you get what you pay for. I just changed the batteries at the new year after a full 3 years use. Not because they needed it I just figured it was a good interval. That's all I have. They do run $100 off sales every now and then.

Do you have anything setup to raise/lower on a schedule or just use the remote?

I have Lutron shades that were hardwired in during construction. We have them on a schedule to close every night at bedtime. If we want them open we use a remote.
They have worked flawlessly for over 5 years.

they open in the morning and close in the evening. I have them on the same app and controller as all my luton smart switches. We use it with the Smart hub you can get at Lowe's.

what size windows? you might get lucky at ikea. the house we just moved from i installed 6 of them and never added the smart hub. just a stick on wall switch that you program/sync to whatever shades you have.

they were the tredesen light blocking shades fwiw. i paid abaout $150 each and i only charge the batteries maybe twice a year raising and lowering them every morning and night

eta these were pretty much mandatory; i had 4 huge windows behind a sofa facing east so the house was miserable in the mornings and i hated climbing on top of the sofa to get to the middle shades.

worked pretty much flawlessly and all 4 downstairs stayed in sync..even if you paused them halfway down, they would all stop at the same height even if there was a delay in them all responding.
