bare ground herbicide around home question

I have a 3 foot gravel border around my house. Put 2 layers of fabric then metal edging before adding gravel. As the years go by weeds come through the gravel. Glyphos and Triclopyr don't last and end up spraying multiple times a year. Reading up on Pramitol and a few others I have concern about run off killing desirable plants outside of the border. Also get an annoying broadleaf weed that comes up between pavers around pool and walkway. Anyone have a longer lasting solution ?

Glyphosate is the cheapest and easiest route. Who cares if you have to do it a few times a year?

Not even close to true compared to ground sterilization. The real question here is whether the area big enough to give ample borders. I personally have never used total kill products in such a confined space.

Start with something like Groundclear or RM43 and see if it works for you. It’s supposed to be good for a year. I’ve had success with it in driveways and other small areas, but not in a ditch where it will see water.
I have not seen a problem with “run off” of the product once it dries and settles into the soil. You should be fine to spray it carefully and not damage the surrounding lawn.

Thanks, was looking at the RM43. was also looking at Esplanade EZ but if it ran off, might be a mistake to look at for a while. Its also pretty $$ at the 8-16 oz /gal rate suggested by some

What’s the cheapest option now?
