I tried burning, painting, spraying, resodding, etc. It all worked to some effect but it comes back if you leave any of the root system.

I wound up digging out the roots on any re-emergence site and that finally worked. It is a white root that is almost like a tuber, thicker and more pliable than any other grass roots.

What about in a flower bed? Can I put glysophate in a pump sprayer and spray the torpedo grass. Does it work like round up that as long as I don’t get it on leaves of other plants they should be fine?

If all other selective herbicides only control it, not kill it…. Would you suggest painting it with glyphosate as the first step to actually kill it without killing my Bermuda?

I tried this recently with a patch of torpedo in my saint Aug. As the stocks grew I cut the rhizome about an inch above the ground and painted it with triclopyr. So far, so good. I will have replace a few patches where I was messy. It was a giant pain in the arse, so I hope it works.

what do you mean? rhizomes are under ground? did you just cut the stem and put triclopyr on the stem? why triclopyr and not glyphosate?
