washer/dryer set.
Recent Speed Queen owner.
Far superior to the shite Maytags (and prior to that, LG) I replaced. And surprisingly, super quiet, with a 7-year warranty on the washer.
I currently have a KitchenAid refrigerator. It sucks. Ice maker constantly goes out. LED lights on the inside of the refrigerator are out. And it will occasionally "leak" from the ice maker. On my next one, I will look to "not" have the ice maker on the side of the door.
I will consider Bosch and Fisher Paykel next time around.

We built in 2021. The only appliances not backordered forever were Bosch and thermador. Bosch was in budget, thermador was a 5k upgrade. We went with Bosch and have been happy. The dishwasher, gas cooktop, and oven/microwave combo have been great. Had a couple ice maker issues with refrigerator but unplugging it and plugging it back in after 10mins solved it so not a huge deal.

Cooking and refrigeration: high end ge (profile / cafe) is best option
Laundry: Speedqueen or ge’s commercial laundry
Stay away from Frigidaire
Samsung & LG are not bad but are very electronic driven, so expect problems that can’t be fixed after a few years
Editing…
Bosch is good and priced right but the availability is bad right now also their parts wear out fast (handles, knobs, etc) not a deal breaker as these are easily replaced and fixed but definitely an inconvenience

On the washer dryer, go with top loader washer and get both with as little electrical components as possible. The old school mechanical knobs are the way to go.
Speed Queen and Whirpool are tops. But I have a Speed Queen set and both the washer and dryer had issues so far (one under warranty, one not).....so every brand is not bulletproof.

If this thread tells you anything, it's that all brands are great and all have their faults. You usually see more negativity towards the "if they make a TV" brands but I've even seen some people recommend them.
Personally, I've been good with a GE fridge and a Frigidaire fridge, frigidaire dishwasher, blue star range, and speed queen washer and gas dryer. All have been fine/great. Did have to change a mixing valve on my speed queen washer but it looks like that's a generic part across multiple brands.
I will go over and above on my love for my blue star 36" range, it's a work horse, nothing fancy like a thermadore or other high end brands but i love its simplicity.

Agree. Have a Whirlpool fridge. Ice maker quit working about a month after the warranty expired. Contacted Whirlpool and the told me to kick rocks. Repair man said to make it work he'd have to replace the door, which cost almost what I paid for the fridge. Frick Ice makers.

I sold a 2 YO Samsung "top of the line" washer & dryer set because it was absolute crap. Straw that broke the camel's back was a dryer motor that went out... $700!!!!!!.
Screw that!
Cut my losses & went to manual Speed Queen set & have never looked back.

We have a top load LG washer and dryer and it’s been solid for 5+ years so far.
We have a LG refrigerator and freezer as well. It’s 2 years old and has been excellent thus far.
This board has a love affair for Speed Queen washers and dryers.
