If you go back with the same, staple Luan down first then glue to that or go floating on slab. That urethane glue sucks to remove. No easy or cheap way.

On average we don't don't do demo and install for less than 6sqft. We are very professional and keep a hard working crew. It's to the point now that we do more work for cost plus contractors instead of working directly for the homeowner. If they don't hire a GC good chance there's not good money in the job to make it worth doing.

The advice about using skillsaw to cut strips in the floor is effective. Also the hammerdrills are a lifesaver at times. If it is coming up easily go to hardware store buy two flathoes and ram the edge underneath the wood. I have gotten two to three feet of flathoe under the wood at times then pried up 7 or 8 planks at once.
