Anyone have any signs of army worms or sod webworms yet?

The initial barrage came through and I ended them with the quickness as I noticed some of my blades were being chewed up. Now, a round of moths are hitting me and pulling back to the point that when I go to spray them in the evening, they have taken refuge elsewhere. I’m anticipating a second wave of larvae to attack again.

I just thought to myself this morning that I had not seen a single moth this year and none of the dead spots. Typically by now the moths will be all over and I would have already treated a couple of times by now. Had them bad the last 3 yrs.

When I walk through my yard right now the moths rise up and block out the sun they are so plentiful.

I've had Azalea bushes for 15 years. Never had catapillars. Looked yesterday I must have seen 50+ Azalea Caterpillars. Too hot to worry about it

I'm sure granules probably work on them, but I used my Ryobi battery powered sprayer and some liquid talstar last week all over my backyard because I was tired of mowing and having to bat the moths away non stop. Grass damage was very minimal, but I figured it was a matter of time.

I know Ryobi gets shite on and $70 for a battery powered sprayer seems absurd, but I knocked out my almost 1/2 acre yard in 15 minutes and almost no effort but walking around.

You have to catch them early. If not they will destroy your yard very quick. I use Bifen IT. I was gradually starting to see them again this year. I sprayed two weeks ago. When I cut grass the other day I did not see one moth. I had them bad last year.

I’m guessing this is what got my perfect grass looking like hell pretty quick. Was great 2 wks ago and started seeing some moths. By the time I ordered the talstar, waiting for shipping and then waiting on the rain to quit I guess they got me. Anything else to do from here?

I checked my yard last night and there were definitely some in there. Are y'all doing any granular treatments after you spray the insecticides?
