Looking to redo flooring in my house and wanna go laminate wood. Any recommendations on decent, affordable places that might offer financing?

Engineered is actual wood with the surface layer being wood veneer on top of an "engineered" layer of epoxy/wood. It is glued or nailed down and commonly mistaken for hardwood flooring.

Laminate or a floating floor is predominantly vinyl plank these days. It is commonly laid down without glue utilizing a click lock/tongue and groove edge. This is what you want. The Nu-Core line at Floor and Decor is some of the best on the market at $3 a foot.

I put Pergo outlast in my house about 3 years ago. Am very satisfied with the flooring. Only complaint is the noise that my dog makes when he walks the floors at night.

Yep.

Laminate is basically an image of wood grain glued to particleboard,

"Luxury" vinyl plank is an image of wood grain glued to a synthetic core.

Engineered wood is real wood glued to plywood.

With the prevalence and strides made in LVP there's no reason to get laminate. I still prefer engineered as it's unmistakably real wood.
