What the hell is that about?

Seriously? Just asking why would these be deemed "inappropriate".

wow - you have a lot of mess to clean up then...
is this a new rule?
please don't take this comment as a complaint; that is not my intent...
But, you have a lot of people that have some kind of political avatar and have for quite some time - many of them are high quality posters that add valuable and interesting content
I can't help but agree with you that shutting down the sig pics makes sense (sig pics get out of hand sometimes anyway)
but are you really going to make people take down avi pics of Reagan?
I have seen avatars with either Trump or Clinton having a log of poop coming out of their mouth; so sure, that kind of picture is over the top and inappropriate
but just a picture of a political figure should be OK IMO, or a picture of Taylor Swift with a photoshopped "Make America Great Again" hat on...
I sure do wish that you would make this a "discretionary" rule that is "case by case" and not a hard & fast rule
even this (actual avatar in use) could be considered a political avatar (IE - America needs to always be a nation at peace; because war is always bad):

Tigerdroppings going the Twitter/Reddit route. I understand having decency standards, but not censorship of content. Especially if it is true.

My old avatar was also deemed inappropriate.

It's been like this since the site existed.

You can say whatever you want, but It seems pretty selectively enforced. Not just talking about avatar/sig pics, but content of posts. I do understand that everything can not be moderated all of the time.

Having a rule is one thing. Enforcing it is another. You might want to review how it is being enforced.

No admin is going to review thousands of accounts and remove every case. When we see it, we removed it. Not that big a deal.

Its your site, you can do what you want.
I just came here to ask because I've been on here for 13 years and had no idea, and it wasn't explained that it was because it was political, just that it was inappropriate. Maybe a better explanation of the rules would help because I didn't think that those pictures were in any way inappropriate, and I don't want to get suspended from this site for so long because of something stupid again.
Thanks for the explanation.
It was time for an Avi and Sig change anyway.
