The Search Feature on TD

This is just a suggestion.
Is it by design that it's this old school or am I missing an optional setting? The current feature is limiting and bad UX.
Search feature could be improved by fewer click funnel to search and smarter search. Maybe have a search feature right on the subheading with all the forums.

I had no idea.. Just seems it's got way more potential with a slick UX and app. But hey, whatever works. The Google indexing from this site is incredible as is, so maybe messing with it would only do harm.
