I know it sounds broad and that's because it is ... But TD needs a history board where all the history buffs , myself included, can discuss major events that have taken place throughout time ... There will be no shortage of posters lining up to be admins for said history board.. It will have higher traffic than some other existing boards by its second week.

Thank you for listening Chicken

Just title it History Talk

Why can't the current admins admin this proposed history board (that will never happen)?

A great poster, redfield, and I had this amazing idea for a board called the "Penalty Box". Essentially, it was a board where only nearly-banned posters could post. It was like purgatory or something - but we all got to watch them melt.
It was a great idea originally suggested here and here.

A history board would probably collapse into a second poliboard. You'd get topics like "Lincoln: History's Greatest Monster?" and "Just Asking Questions About The Holocaust" where the answers are inseparable from one's political views.

This is the likely outcome. On the positive side it would have better conversations than the poliboard. Political board is 80% or so a news board so good topics often get pushed out pretty quickly instead of hanging around.

I like the Symposium idea, but only if you had harsh but fair mods that would not allow trolling or shite talking for sport. That would probably be a tough job, but if enough posters liked it you could probably eventually have a lot of self-enforcement.

Debate should be allowed of course, and people can play devil's advocate or whatever, so long as it's not personal or regurgitated talking point attacks.

Maybe if it had a somewhat long minimum post link it would allow for quick modding and eventually evolve to more self-modding like you suggested.

It would be pretty fun I believe.
