Post count stays the same. Deleted posts still exist, they are just on a board that you need to be an admin to access. I wonder if there is only one board for that or a board assigned to each board.
I think I saw a formula a while back to calculate how many posts of yours have been deleted but I forgot.

Truth. I recently applied for a job and was told I was qualified and they would love to hire me, but I had had too many threads deleted on TD. They said if I improved the quality of my posting they would reconsider. Yeah, like that's gonna happen.

number of pages in your post history (except the last page, you have to count them) * 30
plus the number of posts on your last page
take that total and subtract it from your post count.
i have 2938 posts that have been deleted, which is around 9% of my total
