If a thread gets whacked, or a poster banned because of "rumors"

Then those rumors turn out to be true, does that poster get an apology from the admins? I just saw a rumor thread on the Rant that got whacked, and another poster insinuated they were going to get banned. Well what if that rumor is true?
Disclaimer: I have no idea whether that certain rumor was true or not, and I did not comment in that thread.

Good point. Like a year ago, when I got banned for saying rude things about Chavis when we lost in Athens.
