I apparently accidentally changed some sort of setting on Google I believe...when search results come up, instead of brief previews of the sites coming up, it is now basically only links.
Compare this (links with descriptions):
To this (no descriptions):
What the frick did I click/hit on accident, and how can I fix it? It's really annoying.
Preesh.

I deleted DOS once a long time ago. I didn't think I needed that icon.

try clearing your cache. Settings>history>clear browsing data(it's in the top left hand corner)
Then close the browser and relaunch it.
I'm assuming you're using chrome.

I'm no chrome expert, but try clicking that gear icon at the top right. probably a view setting.

Not chrome. Just IE9.
I deleted cookies and whatnot, and so far have not had problems today. Hope that continues..

If you can convince the State of Louisiana to use something else, be my guest.

It can be installed on a USB flash drive and run without being installed on your work machine, nor does it leave personal information on the computer. The Tor Browser bundle can run the same way, yet because it runs through the Tor network is much slower. So unless you need the anonymity the Firefox Portable would be the better choice.

Did it go back to normal immediately after doing that? Because I have two thoughts.
In one you are logged in, but not the other.
And sometimes Google fiddles with things to measure results.

Does this happen on low bandwidth?

I doubt it. The page summaries are a tiny fraction of the total "weight" of the page. AFAIK the only low-bandwidth adjustment google makes is to turn off the "instant" results.

It's not that important really. I was just seeing/hoping it would be an easy fix. Preciate the info though.
And Kork, it seems to be working now. I know I was signed in and not in each of the pics...that was to show the difference in what I was talking about. For whatever reason, it was sort of jumping back and forth with short results versus descriptive results. But hopefully I won't have problems anymore.
