i can only speak from personal experience....
i think that IRL most of us are actually decent fun people to be around...well the people that I have met form here have been (save for ONE person). On this website the tendency to throw insults around is common place and usually in jest. i haven't done an official scientific survey, but i would be willing to bet that "count" is used equally amongst both genders.
eta: i know that this comment wasn't directed to me, i just wanted to add my 0.02

It's fascinating to watch the Pink Ladies circle the wagons.
It's like at a sorority function when someone takes a picture. Before the picture, all of the girls are busy doing their own thing. Then somebody announces that a picture will be taken. All of the sisters immediately jump into a group pose without being told where to go.
It's pathetic too, but it's fascinating. You expect that kind of reaction from girls. You don't expect that kind of reaction from grown women.
