Can Down Votes Be Removed?

If so, the down vote in this thread should be removed and if the down voter can be identified, a PM should be sent to him or her. Seriously, what numbskull down votes a post like that!

It means nothing to me. I wouldn't have even noticed it if another poster hadn't brought it up because I rarely notice those votes, but itmight mean something to the poster who is going through a sensitive time right now.
You're right, though. I should have known better than to bring it up here or anywhere.
