Can an admin please remove the anchor from our 2015 UFC thread?

The OP updates the title as new UFC news comes up but it got anchored because someone else posted this particular news in a different thread. We keep all UFC related stuff in here and it makes everyone happy, the people who post in it and the people who dont want a lot of UFC thread cluttering the MSB. Not sure I am a fan of the thread title being updated over time, but the first page of comments are completely unrelated to the thread title.

Due to the frequency of UFC events, I think it was done with the MSB in mind.

The thread title typically only changes as new events come up, this was rare because it was huge news, but if you wanted to make the title something like "UFC 2015 Thread" I am sure nobody would care and we wouldn't have to change it. A LOT of us like it and post in it almost daily. Thanks!

This is also true, it keeps MSB posters that don't really follow UFC from starting a new thread everytime they see a headline on ESPN just because they want to have a reason to start a thread. There have been like 5 UFC related threads I have wanted to start in the last couple of days since we haven't been able to discuss all of the recent news in our thread. Also, I have found myself headed over to Sherdog and I end up wasting an hour or so there and generating ad revenue for them instead of TD since there is no UFC discussion here and I can guarantee I am not the only one.....

I train UFC and I like the MSB.
Chicken you must ask yourself, do I want multiple MMA threads on the front page or would I prefer it all be kept in one thread?
I can see both sides. I personally prefer a new thread for each event/news but people kept bitching so we started doing one large thread.
Let just get some clarity on your preference and move forward.

Nothing wrong with new mma threads for big announcements imo. Jon Jones getting arrested was definitely thread worthy.
The big mma thread that got anchored wasn't a 2015, year long thread. We usually go a couple ppv events before people want a new one to start fresh. The mma thread to start the year got really big rather quickly (twss), so we got a new thread in February I believe. 187 would've gotten a new one as well.
When there are 4 little events in 2 weeks, there's no point in starting 4 new threads with single-digit responses in each thread. Just update the main thread for a little while, and start over when a new one is needed.
The NBA is doing just that with their threads. They aren't starting a new game thread for every single playoff game, and they get double-digit pages per game in certain instances.

Ya I guess we did start after Jones/DC but whatever, we should just have one long thread. Maybe just keeping the name of the next event in the title would work and not do news in the title, that would be more like the NBA Playoff threads. BTW

Everyone got pissy cause the one to start 2015 got long really quickly and they wanted a new thread a month or so in, so I obliged. I love the fact we are having way more mma discussion this year than years past on this board.
I will go back and change the thread title and OP to the anchored thread in hopes of getting it unlocked. If not, Chicken can start a new thread for FN 65 & 66.

Your threads are great for news and discussions but Fight Pass on my phone lets me know every single time ANYTHING is happening live. Press conference I get an alert, weigh-ins alert, prelims alert, main card alert etc. Its kind of annoying but its worth it. I know a ton of other people love your thread for the times though, keep it up!

Hopefully this doesn't go down the golf road. I rarely watch events anymore but I follow the action on junkie and get the reactions from TD.
