Sprints for speed. Can’t really beat that tried and true method. Back squats, front squats, lunges, box step ups, deadlifts and its variants, hang cleans and power cleans are all great in creating power in the legs. Do not forget to incorporate flexibility and mobility training. As an athlete, all that power is pretty useless if he can’t move fluidly with a good range of motion. A lot of injuries can be prevented with solid mobility. As for an actual workout schedule, I can’t help you. I’m sure someone here with a sports background can write a program specific to a baseball player’s needs.

ETA: Core work is also essential. A strong core means stronger body.
