First event was released today.

Workout 5: The Ocho Chipper

50 pull-ups
25 HSPUs
50 Hang PCs
50 Pull-ups
25 HSPUs
50 Front squats
50 pull-ups
25 HSPUs
50 S2OH

Weight for us is 115.

Nothing synchro here, but when one athlete is on pull-ups, another is hanging from the bar. When one athlete is doing HSPUs, another is doing a handstand hold.

I’m surprised (and happy) we are doing HSPUs. Normally they scale it down to HRPUs. I’ll probably do 2/3rds of the HSPUs.

Event 4: Ski School
30 cal ski erg
250M Swim
30 cal ski erg

Each athlete follows the other on the erg and jumps in and swims 250M and then finishes with another 30 cal each

17 min cap

Don’t see this going longer than 13 min.

Last athlete should be in the water by the 4:30 mark. Shouldn’t be like last year when 80+ jumped in together to swim 200M. Looks like a ~5 min swim in an open water setting.

They had a small surprise for tomorrow’s beach run.

It’s 2 2500M legs. During the first 2500, we have to wade/swim out to buoy’s and back in, situated every 500M apart. The 2nd 2500m is a straight run to the finish.

The buoys will be 50-100m off the beach.

Someone ran it in 16 and change.

The first half was easy since it was close to the water and the sand was packed. The 2nd half was run away from the surf and it was brutal. It was like I was digging holes with every step. Calves were lit up the frick up and I’ve had them worked on 2x since then by the PT staff here,

I could imagine. When we go to Florida and I go run in the beach, it lights my arse up.
