Wodapalooza online qualifiers start cranking up for the 2018 event tomorrow..

Individual qualifiers start tomorrow and team qualifiers start mid October. I'm slated for both. Ready to put myself through hell for no reason whatsoever: 6 workouts in 4 weeks for individual, and something like 10 in 10 days for team.

I'll do ok on strength and basic cardio workouts, but I still lack consistent DUs and I haven't tried MUs since tweaking a rear rotator cuff muscle back in March on some snatch grip presses on a smith machine.

Good luck!! I would like to go to Woapalooza to watch but not compete. The volume is way to high for me. Local competitions ruin me for a few days I could imagine what a competition like that would do.

I've been as a spectator going on 3 straight years. We already booked flight and hotel for 2018.

I've won a few spectator contests out there. A couple of Lifeproof iPhone cases on some hand release push-ups for time and max in a minute. There was another one last year but I failed to do it: 1 min cap.. 10 HSPU buy in and max pull-ups.

I would have blown through the HSPUs in 15 seconds and hit 30+ pull-ups in my remaining time.

Week 1 Workout 1: 7MIN AMRAP Squat Clean & Jerks
225/155 Elite/Rx/Masters to 40-44
165/115 Intermediate/Scaled/Masters >44

Week 1 Workout 2: 2 min time cap 8 burpee box jumpovers, 8 hang power cleans and 8 Thrusters

115/80 Elite/Rx Masters to 40-44
95/65 Intermediate/Masters >44 and Scaled

If you finish within 2 minutes, you earn another round, and so on. The workout will continue until you can't complete a full round in 2 min. If you finish inside of 2 min, you rest until the next 2 min block starts. Max of 12 rounds.

i was gonna try 225 though my reps would be capped because i dont know how many times i can realistically jerk that in 7 min. maybe 15-20.

might do 165 which flow better for sure. will post results if i do it. did some heavyish squat cleans today, should have just done this damn workout

We had Jake the Snake programmed today:
10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 Jerks @ 185
2-4-6-8-10-12-14-16-18-20 CTB pull-ups

Hard pass with this on tap for tomorrow.

I haven't been doing heavy cleans since Jan so I wouldn't do well if I tried 225, but 165 is for my qualifying group so I'm doing it.

I'll probably Thruster Jerk all the reps.

Goal is 40.

Meh.. 28 today.

Have two weeks to turn the scores in so I may redo this one. The 2nd workout I'm definitely not doing 2x. That's a 1 and done workout.

I don't feel bad.

EZ Muhammad is a beast and he only got 24 reps at 225. Sure, 165 is much lighter, but compared to my max it's the same % as his lifting 225.

21 CTB Pullips
15 Strict HSPUs
9R/9L Pistols (Alternating 9 each leg)

For Intermediate/Scaled/Masters 45+
21 Pull-ups
15 Kipping HSPUs
18 KB Goblet Squats (70/53)

Week 2 Workout 4 & 5
20 min running clock
2 rounds
40 cal row
40 TTB
40 Overhead squats (95/65)
..upon completion of 2 rounds (or cap of 18 min) start workout 5, using the remaining time to work up to a 1RM hang snatch.

Intermediate/Scaled/Masters 45+
2 rounds of 30/30/30 with OH squats weights the same and 1RM hang snatch max.

Yeah.. my core will be wrecked after the first round of 40 TTB and 40 OH squats.

When they said 2 weeks to turn scores in for W1 and W2, I thought they would be due tomorrow when they were due yesterday.

Didn't enter my W2 scores, but dicked around wth the 21-15-9 workout today and did 3 rounds in 9:58. I was going HTH with a friend who sucks at HSPUs and a 4th round would have crushed him (and he was doing only 9 instead of the 15 HSPUs).

Oh well. I'm signed up for team, too.

No, but I'll be there as a vendor.

Trying IM Team for Wodapalooza. Team probably won't qualify for IM (lots of Rx teams drop down to IM), but we may opt for scaled after the online challenge is over.

Doing the 20 min cap: 2 Rds of 40/40/40 and 1RM hang snatch today.

Did the workout of 2rds of 40/40/40 cal row/TTB/OHS and 1RM hang snatch..

16:30 followed by 155 hang snatch. Not too bad. All of those TTB slowed me down and limited my snatch attempts.
