What was your doctor’s thought on higher calcium score and good stress test—as far as future monitoring and treatment? I had a 200+ CAC score recently. Same place as yours. Stress test and more bloodwork scheduled. Have been really healthy the last 10 years, but doesn’t necessarily negate the first 30 years of life!

Louisiana Cardiology Associates. LCA.

Stud group of excellent cardiologists. Surprised Deumite isn't retired by now. Must be close to it. He was a fairly new doc when I met him in 1992 when I was an LSU senior. He's probably early to mid 60s now. Harris Lappin, MD was one of the principal founders/owners, and he passed away many years ago. Don't know the status of the other "old guys", respectfully speaking: Quaid, Leukhart, Wall, Moonan. Glad to know he's well thought of.

Future testing has not been discussed. The best protocol for now (pending finding a cardiologist- down to Dr. Moraes or per my GP- Dr. De Puy) is to see if I can get on a PCKS9 inhibitor to drop my APOB and maybe lower LPa somewhat. The fact that the stress test was awesome goes a long way for him. APO B was just done and it came back within range, but was the high end of the "normal" value. Going to try and drop that number in half

Do all of these cardiologists just automatically prescribe statins, like it's a default?

That is what I’m trying to avoid by being selective with my cardiologist. However statins are a relatively safe and effective way to reduce risk despite what you may hear and see on the internet. They are proven to stabilize soft plaque and help prevent new one
