What’s the deal with Manuka honey and what is MGO and its health benefits?

I’ve been getting a ton of ads for this “new” honey and its claims for health benefits, but I can’t find what those specifically are. According to the prices, clearly the higher the MGO #, the better, but what is it supposed to do? And does it even do it or is it snake oil? Anybody have experience with this?

UMF # also seems important, but again, wtf is it?

I've seen commercials for it. Sounds like a scam.

Manuka honey is not really new.Wound care nurse at hospital I worked at used it to help heal leg ulcers about 15 years ago.
Friend of mine used it to help heal diabetic leg ulcers on her father, worked well.It was expensive,$25.00 for a 1/2 pint if I remember correctly.
As far as any other health benefits,I never heard of any.
Problem is there is a lot of counterfeiting going on.It is produced primarily in New Zealand and more of it is sold than is actually produced.

Agree with 75 - mainly used in wound care applications from my experience.
